Trojan Women est l’un des plus grands cris contre la guerre jamais portés sur scène. Dans cette relecture contemporaine des Troyennes d’Euripide, Karim Alrawi relit la tragédie antique à travers les conflits de notre temps. De Troie à Gaza, ce sont les voix des femmes et des enfants qui résonnent : leurs douleurs, leurs pertes, leur amour, mais aussi leur dignité et leur courage face à l’horreur.
Victimes des guerres, de la cupidité et du pouvoir des hommes, elles refusent pourtant de disparaître dans le silence. À travers elles, le spectacle interroge ce que valent l’honneur, la justice et l’humanité lorsque des enfants sont tués et que ceux qui pourraient agir détournent le regard.
Porté par la Mandala Young Company, Trojan Women transforme un grand texte classique en une œuvre brûlante d’actualité : un hommage aux peuples liés à leur terre, à leur mémoire, et à leur droit d’exister.
Trojan Women is one of the greatest cries against war ever brought to the stage. In this new version, Karim Alrawi rewrites the ancient tragedy reflecting the conflicts of our time. From Troy to Gaza, the voices of women and children resound: their pain, their loss, their love, but also their dignity and courage in the face of horror.
Victims of war, greed and male power, they nevertheless refuse to disappear into silence. Through them, the performance questions the value of honour, justice and humanity when children are killed and those with the power to act turn away.
Performed by Mandala Young Company, Trojan Women transforms a great classical text into a work burning with contemporary relevance: a tribute to peoples bound to their land, their memory, and their right to exist.
